Meet the make-up artist achieving flawless, creative looks - despite being legally blind. Lucy Edwards, 24, is a UK-based YouTuber, broadcaster and disability activist who navigates the world with the help of her trusty guide dog, labrador cross retriever Olga. Lucy lost her sight aged 17 due to a genetic condition called incontinentia pigmenti and had to learn to redo a number of things from scratch – including applying her make-up. Several years on, she now has more than 35,000 subscribers on YouTube and has penned a book, The Blind Beauty Guide, to help those with visual impairments take control of their appearance. Lucy is engaged to Ollie, her boyfriend of seven years, and while she says she still has “low blind days”, she’s on a mission to change perceptions and prove that you can do anything if you are determined enough.
