A major development has emerged from the strategic Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes. An Iranian drone reportedly struck a U.S.-linked oil tanker Safesea Vishnu in Iraq waters, while reports also confirm the use of underwater drones in attacks targeting commercial shipping, highlighting the growing danger for international maritime traffic in the Persian Gulf.

Despite the rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, global oil supply routes remain active. The first India-bound crude shipment during the crisis — the Liberia-flagged Shenlong Suezmax tanker carrying 135,335 metric tonnes of crude oil — successfully reached Mumbai Port, underscoring the strategic importance of the shipping corridor for India.

Meanwhile, United States Central Command stated that American forces remain focused on clear military objectives. According to reports from the Pentagon, the first week of the war has already cost the U.S. more than $11.3 billion.

The Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for launching dozens of rockets toward Israel in a new operation from Lebanon, raising fears of a broader regional war.

Israel’s leadership, under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, continues to respond to growing threats from Iran and its allied groups. In the United States, political reactions are intensifying, with former U.S. President Donald Trump commenting on the conflict and the strategic implications for American policy in the Middle East.

Discussions have intensified around the role of Ali Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei, who is widely emerging as a potential new Supreme Leader in Iran amid the ongoing crisis.

Iran has also outlined three key conditions for ending the war with the United States and Israel, signaling that diplomatic negotiations could still play a role in preventing further escalation.

With drone warfare, underwater attacks on oil tankers, Hezbollah rocket strikes, and rising military costs, the Iran-Israel-US confrontation is rapidly turning into a major global crisis affecting energy markets, maritime security, and international geopolitics.

The war is also impacting Gulf cities. In Dubai, authorities tightened security after a drone reportedly fell near the city, while global banks began shifting staff from Dubai and Abu Dhabi amid fears of escalation.

Back in India, concerns about oil supply and fuel shortages were addressed in Parliament. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri assured the Lok Sabha that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in the country, and that LPG production has been increased to prevent any crisis.

India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has held multiple conversations in recent days with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss the situation and explore diplomatic options.
