If you are going to England and plan on visiting some of the neolithic sites there, don't miss these two places. Not as well known as Stonehenge, but they each have different characteristics that make them just as worthy of a place to visit. And because they are all within a short drive of each other, it's possible to see them all in a day. A feeling of awe and spirituality infuses them. Looking at the huge man-made mound of Silbury, and walking around and actually touching the stones of Avebury, we felt very connected to the cultures of the past.
