Begins with understanding the original purpose of man. According to Genesis 1:26 and Psalm 8:6, humanity was created to exercise dominion over the earth. The Hebrew word radah means to rule, govern, or manage God’s creation as His representative. This shows that man was designed to reveal God’s nature and authority on earth. The Kingdom, from the Greek word basileia, refers to the rule and government of a king. In the New Testament it speaks of Christ ruling in the hearts of believers, as seen in Colossians 3:15. Therefore, the Kingdom of God is not merely a physical place but the sphere where God’s will and purpose are carried out through His people, which is why Jesus taught us to pray, “Your will be done on earth” (Matthew 6:10). Through Christ, believers are called a royal priesthood and made kings and priests to God (Revelation 1:6; 1 Peter 2:9), meaning they carry a divine responsibility to represent the King and execute His will on earth.

When Adam fell, he did not simply lose blessings or land; he lost the authority and dominion God had given him. Sin entered the world and humanity came under the power of death (Romans 5:12), disrupting man’s place in God’s government. Yet Jesus came to restore what Adam lost. Through Christ, the Kingdom is given back to believers (Luke 12:32), restoring the dominion, the Spirit, and the right standing with God. A true Kingdom mindset, therefore, is a mind governed by the Holy Spirit, where one’s thoughts, decisions, and actions are directed by God. It also means living under God’s authority while exercising spiritual dominion, bringing the influence of heaven into earthly life . Such a mindset focuses on eternal realities rather than temporary circumstances (Colossians 3:2; 2 & Philippians 3:20). In essence, a Kingdom mindset is the thinking of Christ formed in the believer, where the culture, authority, and purpose of the King are expressed through a life transformed by the renewing of the mind.
