Tune in to learn about Food Sovereignty, Pan African Food, Anti-colonial Food systems.
Based out of Canada, Baba Bashir is a Culinary Professor and Food advocate. Chef Bashir is part of a new generation of Toronto chefs who are inspired by global cuisine, while creating the future of local and sustainable food ideas. Born in Somalia and raised in Italy, he was oftentimes disconnected from culturally appropriate foods grown in an ecologically farmed environment. As an agri-culinary educator, he is decolonizing our plates by infusing his work as a culinary educator and academic researcher at York University’s Araminta Harriet Tubman Institute.
We are honored to have him join us as a presenter this year.
