In this episode I show you how to get an outboard engine running by checking the spark plug and cleaning the carburettor. I find that 9 times out of 10, if an outboard engine turns over by hand but won't run, it's due to the carburettor being clogged. This is a very useful skill to learn and with this step by step guide and some simple tools you should be able to get any outboard engine running, providing the piston turns over.
If your outboard engine won't idle properly or the throttle responds erratically, this is also a great method to get the engine back to a clean, basic point of running.
