Florete is NOT a flashy twirling motion. It is a practical Kali technique that involves turning your blade to strike the edge of the opponent's blade with the back of your own, thereby either shattering it or knocking it out of the way. Florete can also be used to strike the hand or the head, or to mess up the opponent's timing.
This drill demonstrates a drill to practice florete on the number two angle. I do it with both hands simply to maintain ambidexterity. It's important to practice both right and left in everything.
