Our Project Land Rover Series Three is starting to come together. We've spent a lot of time replacing metal in the rust prone bulkhead and we're now setting about getting some paint onto it, in the hope that we'll never have to deal with the same levels of grot again.
We're not against spraying, but you really do need a lot of gear, and there's no denying, it's a heavy, dirty and expensive business. We've seen lots of stuff about coach painting - or using a brush - and thought with the right paint, it had to be worth a try. And it's also a lot cheaper. Really, lots cheaper...
So that's what we've done. We've had a few tiny hiccups, and we're not done yet. But this idea is showing a lot of promise...
There's loads more to come with the Land Rover. We're hoping the colour coats are now going to spread over the panels like magic, but somehow, we know there's going to more blood, sweat and setbacks before it looks like it's fit for the road again...
