Steven DeLay is an American writer and philosopher. An Old Member of Christ Church, Oxford, he is the author of Lab Notes (2025), This Present World (2025), Elijah Newman Died Today (2022), Everything (2022), Faint Not (2022), In the Spirit (2022), Before God (2020), and Phenomenology in France (2019). His academic articles, essays, and reviews have appeared in numerous venues, including Continental Philosophy Review, Journal of Aesthetics and Phenomenology, European Journal of Philosophy, Journal for Continental Philosophy of Religion, Phenomenology and the Cognitive Sciences, The Journal of Religion, The Review of Metaphysics, Phenomenological Reviews, Metascience, Sophia, Zeal, Philosophy Kitchen, Miskatonian, Church Life Journal, Mise-en-scene: The Journal of Film & Visual Narration, Cultural Engineering Studies, and Sabah Ülkesi. He is also the editor of the forthcoming Hymns to Life: Michel Henry and Christian Theologians in Dialogue (2025), Life Above the Clouds: Philosophy in the Films of Terrence Malick (2023) and editor of Finding Meaning: Essays on Philosophy, Nihilism, and the Death of God (2023) based on the series of online essays, “Finding Meaning,” at Richard Marshall's 3:16 AM. He is also the translator of Jean-Louis Chrétien's Ten Meditations for Catching and Losing One's Breath (2025) and the forthcoming translation of Jean-Yves Lacoste's Theses on Truth.
