My suggestion is to build a following through the selling of cheap commissions, prints, etc. Keeping the prices low until the demand becomes too much for you to handle. By doing this you gain experience and a following! There are so many different ways to make money as an artist and art commissions are a great way to get your art career started. Selling art commissions is a great way to start making money and become a full time artist. You are basically starting an art career from nothing!
