Before practicing at Central Market, I passed by the bars to practice with Jimmy. It was a heavy Chango kind of practice. When I got to Central Market for more isolated practice I had all this Lightning and Thunder energy inside me. I listened to "Papote's Guajira" (by Los Hacheros) three times. It's an epic 7-minute song. I love the way it sucks you in with the acceleration and crescendo and tense violin strings. And then the bridge hits... and you manifest the earthquake. You gotta throw down hard. Lightning, Thunder, Wind, whatever. You have to stomp around and call down the spirits.
