This morning’s stream was a perfect two-stop psych trip. Netherlands first, then straight to Peru.
I started with Group 1850 Agemo's Trip To Mother Earth (Dec 1968, Netherlands, Philips 844 083 PY). Heavy Dutch acid rock with that avant edge. The kind of late-60s psych that still sounds weird in the right ways, especially when they stretch out and just let the groove get hypnotic.
Then I switched continents to The (St. Thomas) Pepper Smelter Soul & Pepper (1969, Peru, Virrey DVS 689). Gritty Peruvian garage psych, loud and raw, built around that local scene energy where covers and originals all get treated the same way: turn it up and make it yours.
