Tent City: Police presence around unhoused encampment as move out deadline hits, residents vacate

Описание: Monday marks the official deadline for residents to vacate Harrisburg's "Tent City," the homeless encampment near the PennDOT building.

CBS 21 saw Capitol police arrive on scene of the South Front Street encampment just before 7:30 a.m. to help facilitate the move, alongside representatives from human services, the homeless coalition, and other ministries and third parties. One officer said they're unsure how long they'll be on scene Monday morning.

Earlier in the morning, around 5 a.m., some residents were seen sitting on the curb, and others started to take their belongings across to street to the Capital Area Greenbelt area.
