In this week’s parish update, Fr. Jared shares important news for our local Church and exciting moments ahead for St. Luke.
🔹 Archbishop Transition
Pope Leo XIV has accepted Archbishop Aymond’s retirement, and Archbishop Checchio has immediately become our new Archbishop. His first liturgy will be on Ash Wednesday, when he will formally take the Archbishop’s chair — a powerful symbol of teaching authority and apostolic leadership. (Did you know the word cathedral comes from the Latin word cathedra, meaning “chair”?)
🔹 Archbishop Checchio at St. Luke
We look forward to hosting Archbishop Checchio as celebrant and homilist at the 11:00 AM Mass on March 1st.
🔹 Getting Ready for Lent
Ash Wednesday is right around the corner
New Friday Confession time at 5:30 PM
Stations of the Cross at 6:30 PM
Friday Fish Frys
Parish Lenten Mission with Fr. Andrew Gutierrez on March 23 & 24
This is a meaningful time in the life of our Church — both locally and universally — as we prepare our hearts for Lent and welcome new pastoral leadership.
