Overview:
Planning and design are currently underway for the Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill upgrade, focusing on improvements to 8 kilometres of the Pacific Motorway (M1) between the Gateway Motorway and Loganlea Road. This project is Stage 2 of a rolling program of M1 upgrades between the Gateway and Logan Motorways which is being delivered in strategic priority stages.

Location:
Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill.

Completion:
A detailed business case was completed in 2018 and this project is currently in the design phase of the project life cycle. Construction is expected to begin by mid-2020.

Benefits:
The upgrade between Eight Mile Plains and Daisy Hill will reduce travel time and congestion, improve safety, and increase traffic flow. Interchange enhancements will improve access on and off the motorway. The completion of the missing link for the V1 veloway will allow for safer cycle travel, and the extension of the South East Busway to Springwood will give commuters more reliable public transport options.

Funding:
$749 million has been committed by the Queensland and Australian governments for construction of the Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill upgrade in the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program 2019-20 to 2022-23.
