After many years of anticipation, and decades of hanging out in this area, I was finally able to run the French Broad River Section 9: Barnard to Stackhouse. My friend Joseph from work invited me to go with him and his friends on a Wednesday after work float, and I was stoked to get to go finally do this section. I have never been in a sit inside kayak before. I credit Joseph's instruction, my section 6 experience and my snowboarding background for edge understanding. I did not swim on this trip except for practicing escaping the kayak when flipped.
This will be a focus of mine moving forward and look forward to all the new adventures that this will open up. Now to get Kenny in one!
