⚙️ Equipment:
► Pipping tip 195 closed star tip
► Pipping bag
► Electric hand mixer/ stand mixer
🥣 INGREDIENTS:
► 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
► 1/4 cup+1 tbsp. 60g (60g) granulated sugar
► ¼ tsp salt
► 1 egg yolk
► 1 tbsp. heavy cream
► 1 tsp vanilla extract
► 1 cup (125g) cake flour
► 2 tbsp. (16g) cornstarch
📝 INSTRUCTIONS:
1.In a large bowl add cream the soften butter, salt, and sugar together with a spatula. Then switch to an electric mixer and mix until light and fluffy.
2.Add the yolk, cream and vanilla extract. Mix till combined.
3. Sift the cake flour and cornstarch into the wet ingredients fold using a spatula, until well combined.
4. Transfer the dough into a piping bag. (I used a 195 closed star tip) Double the pipping bag just in case it breaks, due to the dough being thicker.
5. pipe in any shape you like.
6. Bake them in a preheated oven at 340°F (170° C) for roughly 14 minutes or until the edges just start turning golden brown. Let them cool completely before decorating.
7. Decorate: Add any color to suit the season or whatever you love. You can also sprinkle sugar over them before baking.
📝 Notes:
➼ To prevent cookies from flattening while baking, the consistency is very important. Make sure the dough consistency is not too thin or wet. To prevent this, fold 1 tbsp at a time, until the right consistency is achieved. Another solution is to keep them in the refrigerator for longer than 30 min.
➼ How to soften butter quickly
If you forgot to leave your butter out on the counter for a few hours don’t worry! Pop it into the microwave for 10 seconds. Turn the sticks over and repeat once or twice until the butter has softened.
