Taxi organisation CODETA says it's considering legal action to prevent the closure of several taxi routes in Cape Town, from Wednesday 17th September 2025.
Last week, the Western Cape government announced that several routes will be closed following an increase in taxi-related violence over the past few weeks. At least eight people have been shot dead.
The roads will closed for 30 days.
