For Earth Day 2022, Harlem’s Fashion Row (HFR) decided to bring awareness to sustainability efforts in the fashion industry as the brand announced its first-ever Sustainability Forum, presented by YouTube.

As a first-of-its-kind event for HFR, the brand’s goal is to educate the multicultural fashion community and inform them of opportunities available in sustainable fashion. The event will allow designers and retailers to integrate sustainability into their brands, utilize better practices, reduce production waste, and find innovative ways to create new solutions for today’s problems that are impacting the Earth and the people who inhabit it.

Celebrating its 15th year supporting emerging talent by providing a platform for underrepresented African American and Latino designers, HFR hopes to continue being a champion of change within all facets of the fashion industry.

“Beyond sourcing organic materials and upcycling garments, the fashion industry must explore sustainability with a wider a lense, to include diversification. Often, Black designers are already faced with so much adversity--lacking brand visibility and financial backing, that building a sustainable brand seems like an impossible feat. That’s why this forum is so important. ” says Brandice Daniel, CEO and Founder of Harlem’s Fashion Row
