No doubt, Picton is underrated. Too many people just jump on/off the ferry here and continue on to wherever they're bound...but we took the day to chill out. Picton is a photogenic wee town on one of the prettiest waterways you could imagine, with plenty of quality places to eat, sleep and drink. We saw a seal in the Queen Charlotte Sound as we were coming in on the ferry, two western wekas on our hike, and even a blue penguin in rehab at the Eco World Aquarium.
