In this video, we’ve just finished a full internal restoration of this Coinola piano, lovingly referred to as the "guts" of the instrument. We restored the soundboard, bridges, and replaced the strings, hammers, dampers, and tuning pins. I take you through the process of refinishing the metal plate with a high-gloss shine, polishing the original hardware, and carefully re-bushing and aligning the keys to ensure smooth playability. The regulation and voicing bring out a rich, warm tone that balances beautifully—transforming what was originally a too-bright sound into something warm and inviting. It’s a blast to play, and though it was once a player piano, this restoration focuses entirely on making it a joy for any pianist today.
