Imagine a picture-perfect love story and a deep friendship set amid the backdrop of Tinseltown, and you almost have the love triangle of Debbie Reynolds, Eddie Fisher, and Elizabeth Taylor. Reynolds, Taylor, and Fisher were A-list celebrities in the early 50s - Fisher a handsome teen idol with a voice to die for, Reynolds an actor and singer with a string of successes in American musicals, and Taylor, a successful child actor delivering hits after hits at the box office. The trio didn't know it at the time, but their lives were about to be irrevocably intertwined in the coming years.

Reynolds and Taylor were friends since they met at MGM. On the other hand, Fisher and Reynolds were an item after Fisher fell for the beautiful Reynolds upon seeing her perform for the troops during the Korean War. Soon, they tied the knot, and all was well with the happy couple. Taylor was dating Mike Todd at the time, and the four of them got along like a house on fire. When Taylor married Todd, Fisher was the best man and Reynolds was the matron of honor. But only within a year of the marriage, Todd died in a plane crash, leaving Taylor half-crazed with grief.

It was a difficult time for Taylor, but no one could have imagined how she coped with it. Fisher was by Taylor's side to support her, and before anyone knew it, he separated from Reynolds to be with Taylor permanently.
