Mr. Kargl-Simard is a professional engineer with over 18 years of experience in the mining industry. Having worked both in technical and finance roles, and currently being the President and CEO of Adventus Mining Corp, I thought he’d be a great person to ask for help. Prior to starting Adventus, Christian worked for 10 years in investment banking roles at Raymond James Ltd. and Haywood Securities Inc. During his tenure in investment banking, Christian was involved in financings raising more than $7 billion, and he assisted in completing over 35 M&A transactions. Mr. Kargl-Simard is a professional engineer (Canada) and holds a B.A.Sc. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

When I’m looking into junior mining speculations, I’m looking at 7 main things. I call those “The 7 P’s”. Yes, indeed, I am very creative. Everybody knows that. My 7 P’s are:

Primary metrics
– Market Cap
– Cash & Debt
– Enterprice value
– Options & Warrants
– Insider ownership
– Share price performance
– Etc.
People
– Management background & trackrecord
Place
– Jurisdiction mineral potenial + legal structure
– Existence of other mining projects
Project
– a lot of geological things but start with grade + size
– volume x grade x desity x discount factor
Plans for the future
– drill program
– straight forward plan
– etc
Problems
– what can go wrong?
– what happens if that happens?
Promotion
– how much is the company spending on marketing?
– who are they partering with?
There is a lot more to it, of course, but this is the basis of this conversation. Christian and I went over those 7 P’s and talked about red flags and what to be on the lookout for.
