I've played some very good Tone Bender clones during my time as a Youtube bloke, but few offer the build and sound quality of Brooklyn's Tomkat Pedals Bender. The Bender is beautifully put together and sounds even better than it looks. With the thoughtful addition of an external bias knob (Texture), you can easily dial up everything from creamy MKII goodness through to something that is of a wider and more colourful dimension. And it's quiet. And loud. And not expensive. That's a trio of wins on top of the aforementioned looks and sonic wins as far as I'm concerned. There is a lot to love about the Bender.
Put simply, if you're in the market for a quality take on the classic MKII fuzz tone, you would be well advised to hunt down a Tomkat Bender and check it out. They are simply one of the best value and best sounding MKII's out there.
