Hey there neighbors, Kevin here at etrailer and today we have a 2017 Jayco Eagle Fifth Wheel trailer here that we are going to be test fitting in some furniture. So right now we have a Heritage series couch from Thomas Payne and this is the driftwood color. Now, there's a couple of different options when it comes to this, so that's why I have all of these pieces sitting out and we're gonna break down each one of those separate options for you today. But I wanna just start out with getting it into your trailer because that is the biggest obstacle. Now, what you're gonna wanna do is first double check what your entryway is, and we typically wanna see at least 26 inches to get that through. Now with our entry, we're gonna go flange to flange.
And on our specific setup today, that's 28 and 3/8. So we got plenty of space to get through here, but right when we walk in, we do have other obstacles. We've got our fire extinguisher on the floor right here essentially, so that's kind of blocking us. Right above, we've got an interior door handle. And then we also have this doorknob on this bedroom right here that fights us each time we wanna try and bring a couch in.
So in our case today, getting a tri-fold couch or loveseat in here can be kind of a fight, whereas with these sectional ones it makes it a whole lot easier 'cause you can break them down to just the base, the back, and then also the center console and easily bring in one piece at a time. So it makes it a whole lot simpler. Now with that being said, I'm gonna start carrying these in with our backing here. Honestly, super easy to walk in. With the base of it, you might want to have an extra set of hands and then also you're gonna need to flip it over onto its side to get it in.
So I'm gonna start loading all this stuff in and then we can start building our couch. All right, so now that we have each one of our pieces in, we're gonna go ahead and assemble it. You'll see that there's two tracks, one on either side, and there's a little tab you can lift up on whenever you're going to actually disassemble it. We will just leave that alone for right now though, since we're putting it together. And it's a little bit easier if you grab one side, get it on, and then kind of grab the other side, push it in.
And then you wanna make sure that you're going down nice and evenly to have these click into place. And then all we got left is some hook and loop fastener on the bottom of this and on the bottom of our base. That's gonna just come right over and seal up this area for us. And the process for our other two pieces is gonna be exactly the same, it just pops right in. So I'm gonna get those in place in and then we can put our three couch pieces all linked up. Now, sitting each piece together is pretty simple. There's gonna be two cleats on each piece. So you'll see these are facing up, these are facing down, so they're gonna mesh together and it's as simple as just dropping in our middle section here. So line 'em up. We'll lift up, drop in that piece, and that is it. Now we can do the same with our other end here, drop that in, and it's all good to go. Last thing is just figuring out how much clearance we need from the back. Now I've got some extra stuff in the way because I have a little holder for our drapery here, so I have to add that in as well. If I pull on my pull cord here, I can then shift this back. It gives me enough clearance to fit past there. And I still have probably two inches from the back up to our wall here, so that's probably gonna be a good spot for me. But your situation could be a little bit different. You might not have extra stuff in the way and you could get it a little bit closer. Now with it all assembled, we can take a finer look at it. This is going to be the widest of the three options because the other options are going to be the two end pieces with the center console or without it just together. So we'd be dropping out this middle section here. So I'll start off with some measurements. Overall, we're looking at right around 77 inches from side to side here. Now for each seat how much space we actually have to sit in. So for our end pieces, it's right around 21, maybe 21 and a half inches. And t
