Train Simulator 2020 | Caledonian Railway 191 class on the Coniston Branch

Описание: In this video we'll be pottering about on the Coniston Branch with a Scottish 4-6-0, though sadly not Jones Goods No. 103 (that is coming, so I hear). Instead we'll be using the Caledonian 191 class.

The specific engine we're taking is 191 class No. 195, and she is pulling five Mk1 coaches in the Carmine and Cream livery. We start the run at Foxfield, where the line to Coniston branched off from the Cumbrian Coast Line. After taking on passengers, we proceed up to the terminus of this 9.9 mile long branch without stopping. On the way we pass through the stations at Broughton-in-Furness, Woodlands and Torver; the summit of the line.

There a lot of engines that wouldn't like trying to get up the Coniston branch, as it features some pretty steep gradients (in fact, they get as steep as 1 in 32 or 1 in 27). As it turns out, the 191 class isn't as good at climbing hills as I thought. Despite this, she made it all the way to Coniston without stopping.

Upon arrival at Coniston, we uncouple the coaches and leave them in the platform. Then we go over to the turntable and turn the engine around. And after THAT we drive the engine back over to the station, couple to the coaches and head back down the valley to Foxfield. The end.
