The Charleston County Sheriff's Office and Charleston County Coroner's Office spoke at a press conference on Sept. 9, 2014 regarding the shooting death of Deputy Joseph Matuskovic and the injury of Deputy Michael Ackerman during an incident that occurred on Sept. 8-9 on Carriage Lane in West Ashley.
Charleston County Government also addressed the death of Larry Britton, of Technology Services and Radio Operation, who passed away early Sept. 9, who was working in a support capacity during the incident and died as a result of a natural cause, according to the Charleston County Coroner's Office.
