Jajpur flood relief protest erupted at Gopalpur in Badachana block as affected residents surrounded Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and demanded tarpaulins, rehabilitation and immediate assistance. After the floodwater receded, victims alleged irregularities and discrimination in damage assessment and relief distribution. They also raised complaints against the local tehsildar and Revenue Inspector directly before the Deputy Chief Minister. Responding to their anger, Pravati Parida stepped out of her vehicle, heard their grievances and assured appropriate assistance to affected families and farmers. She also promised arrangements for cattle feed. The focus now remains on how quickly the administration delivers the promised support and addresses the allegations raised by flood victims.
