After qualifying for the Freeride World Tour, I thought it would finally feel like I had made it. But the moment I stopped pushing, my body dropped out of survival mode. Injuries flared up, emotions I’d been holding down finally surfaced, and reaching the next level didn’t come with the stability I had expected.
This off-season became something completely different than I had planned. Less heavy lifts, more therapy, embracing rest and new forms of movement, and learning how to slow down and listen to my nervous system. At first it was frustrating, letting go of identities and expectations always is, but necessary to build new ones that would carry my forward in this next chapter.
What I didn’t realize was that this off-season would become the most important training block of my life - not physical training, but for my mind, identity, and nervous system. I started asking bigger questions: What does “making it” actually mean? How can I build more peace and presence? What do stability and freedom look like for me now? And can both exist at the same time?
I worked on reconnecting with myself, even when (especially when) it was messy. And a trip to Chile gave me the best riding of my life, alongside some of the hardest emotional moments I’ve experienced.
This episode of ALL IN is about what happens after you achieve the success you’ve worked so hard to attain and the off-season that forced me to slow down, heal old patterns, rethink my mindset, and prepare not just for the Freeride World Tour, but for the life I want around it.
