Les Twentyman Foundation Chief Executive Paul Burke discussed the “horrific” incident at “one of Melbourne’s major shopping centers,” Northland Shopping Centre, on Sunday.
Mr Burke said the machete ban in Victoria is “not in place as yet,” but will come into force later this year.
“Given that this is the second machete incident this weekend in Melbourne, the government may decide to have a look at this and perhaps bring the start date forward,” Mr Burke told Sky News Australia.
