STORYLINE
Former South Korean Prime Minister, Lee Wan-koo, was summoned to the South Korean High Prosecutor's Office on Thursday morning, to be questioned over allegations of bribery.
Lee apologised to the people of South Korea for "having the nation worried" and said he was looking forward to resolving the matter.
Businessman Sung Wan-jong claimed he gave 30 million won (27,390 US dollars) to Lee, a sum exceeding the legal limit for contributions to politicians in South Korea, when Lee was running for a seat in parliament in 2013.
Sung made the allegations before apparently committing suicide.
Lee resigned in April, only two months after being appointed as Prime Minister.
