Alright welcome back for another video! This will be the final "build video". I do plan on doing a follow up video on my likes and dislike of my design along with a more in-depth look at my coop/run features in the next few weeks.The chickens are now living in their new home, although I'm still finishing up little things. In this video i'll be completing all the cedar siding, trim, the metal roof, nesting box, and the run. the overall dimensions of the coop and run is 10' by 6'. the coop is 5' long by 4' wide, an the run is 6' wide by 5' long. all the siding is your typical cedar 5.5" fencing planks, and the run lumber is 1.5" Douglas fir that I ripped up out of 2x6 lumber on my table saw to save on cost. The coop is fully insulated with 1/2" foam I got at the local home center, and it came in pack of 6 sheets and measured 14" by 4' for roughly $10 a pack that I installed off camera, and covered with scrap 1/2" osb on the inside.. the metal roofing supplies I custom ordered from a different local home center and I found it to be fairly inexpensive "roughly $2 per foot if I remember correctly, and I only need less than 16 feet.

Yes this coop and run is fairly close to our house, and it provides both pros and cons. As it sits it's a little over a foot from the house and if I were to do it again I would make it at least 3' away "in a perfect world" I'd put it way further away on our few acre lot, but you have to keep the wife happy right!?
