Siwa and Siwi traditions (Egypt) - Amazigh Languages

Описание: This video in Siwi starts with the traditional opening formula introducing folktales, a practice that, according to the inhabitants of Siwa, is in danger of disappearing - and continues by talk about Shali, the old citadel where people used to live in the past, the food that the Siwi people eat during the Eid el Kebir and the art of using palm tree leaves for the production of baskets, carpets and various other objects.
The video was made putting together different audio and video recordings collected from 2011 to 2018 in the oasis of Siwa by Valentina Schiattarella, who says "I thank here all the people who have welcomed and helped me in these years in Siwa and I hope that this video will inspire others to do the same."
