Princess Peach invited Mario, Luigi, and Wario over for cake.
But Bowser ruins their plans: the three cap-wearing heroes enter the castle — but they won’t be leaving anytime soon, as Bowser traps them and the Princess inside magical paintings.
Meanwhile, Yoshi had been sleeping first on the castle roof and later in the castle garden.
There, he is awakened by Lakito, a friendly Lakitu working for Lakita Co., who tells him about the terrible events (and carries the camera throughout the game).
Now Yoshi must rescue the captives and recover all the Power Stars that Bowser has hidden.
In addition, he must find hidden stars within the castle, known as “Secret Stars.”
