In this video, we cover the peaceful protests that took place in Brighton and Hastings on Wednesday evening, where Sussex Police stood up a significant policing operation in response to potential criminal disorder. With around 2,000 people gathering on Queens Road in Brighton and approximately 400 in Cambridge Gardens, Hastings, both protests remained peaceful, with no incidents of note and no arrests made.
Assistant Chief Constable Paul Court commended the local communities for their cooperation and support, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and order. Sussex Police will continue to have a strong presence in the area in the coming days to ensure safety and prevent any potential disorder.
