Shooting samples to teach myself about Canon HF S11 modes and the character of the Dynamic-OIS stabilizer (see the down-pan for an example of its characteristic "let me fix that" "bounce" motion -- imo the right way to use Canon D-IS is to aim the camera itself when panning, rather than look at the monitor, since the D-IS will eventually try to correct and "center"). I like D-IS, though it has its own "flavor." All shots here are handheld.
The apparent "stickiness" in the pan samples are due not to the OIS but the post-production web compression, which stutters at a slow, stead rate.
The passing train shows some good examples of "CMOS rolling shutter tilt" when it gets going.
