Luke Jerram (b. 1974) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Bristol, UK, internationally recognized for his large-scale public installations that interrogate our relationship with the natural world and each other. His practice spans sculpture, installation, and "creative solutions," often utilizing NASA data or scientific research to bring the wonders of the cosmos—and the complexities of microbiology—into the public realm.
Jerram’s work is characterized by its accessibility and its ability to reach diverse, global audiences, with over 1,000 exhibitions held in 70 countries to date. He is perhaps most widely known for "Play Me, I’m Yours," which has installed over 2,000 street pianos in cities worldwide, and his monumental touring works "Museum of the Moon" and "Gaia," which have been experienced by an estimated 40 million people.
His recent practice has shifted toward social and environmental impact through the Jerram Foundation, which supports arts education and global projects ranging from reforestation in the UK to installing vital street lighting in Sierra Leone. By blending the technical precision of engineering with the emotional resonance of fine art, Jerram continues to challenge how we see the world and our place within it.
