My first suggestion is, please try to stay in the top 5% in the course or field you are enrolled in. That is, at the top in any case, students should be at the top in terms of numbers and at the top in terms of understanding of subject. In Pakistan the teachers can train you well how to obtain good marks, but expand your circle of studying to understand the subject better. Get help from online courses and YouTube. Listen to lectures from two or three teachers on the same subject. Suppose if you are doing biotechnology, try to enroll in a biotechnology course online, from one of the best universities in the world. You will have an idea of what is being taught in the rest of the world, also, you will be able to compete with them.
But before that, try to improve your ability to read and write English. Whether you are going to enrolled in a degree or not, you must improve your English. Once again get help from freely available online resources. At the beginning don’t care about grammar and pronunciation, just try to speak. You can gradually improve your mistakes later. Often we do not find a person with whom we can speak English. The solution is that play any TED talk and put on headphones as well as keep talking as he speaks. In a short time, you will also become proficient in speaking English words. Start writing a diary to learn to write. Write short posts on Facebook.
While studying for a degree, keep an eye out for future prospects in your field. In which direction are jobs increasing and where are they decreasing? Now a days many exchange programs are available for the students of FSC and BS. They provide a chance to go to another country for few weeks. Learn about these programs and then prepare for them. Many forums are now happening online. Participation in these activities will not only make your CV better, but will also give you an idea of what young people in developed countries think. Which direction they are working on? The scope of your understanding will become a little wider.
Circumstances do not always remain the same. Maybe there will be a time when you have to study on your own? Then try to learn a skill which, when the time comes, you can make a living, even as a part-time. For Pakistani students where it is hard to find a part time job freelancing provides a wonderful opportunity. Try to get your hands on some skills that can be offered on freelancing platforms.
Now there is hardly any field left in which computer is not used. For example, machine learning is not only the job of computer related people but also chemists are using machine learning. Physicists not only conduct experiments but also use many computer models in their theoretical framework. Similarly, programming is widely used in meteorology and astronomy. That is to say, it is important to know in which field you want to go in the future and what software are being used in that field. Try to learn them before joining that field. It will make your life easy. There are some softwares that are a must have for anyone in the field, such as EndNote or Mendeley for referencing in articles. Similarly, a little bit of graphics designing is the need of almost every field.
And last but not least, make friends around you who are not only interested in learning but also looking to progress.
