[Ba Na Hills in Da Nang, Vietnam] The Golden Bridge in the FOG!!

Описание: Our last full day in Vietnam was spent at an amusement park style attraction known as Bana Hills. It’s about an hour outside of DaNang. The biggest attraction there in the Golden Bridge. You’d think it was an old attraction but it was only built in 2013 as a pure tourist attraction. A way to make money and bring people to the amusement park.

It’s not a bad thing but also makes it very touristy. It’s a super cool attraction with a beautiful view of the Vietnam mountain side that we did not get to experience because of the rain and fog. It made for an eerie look to the hands though.

We cut our day short to go explore around Hoi An Old town one more time. My only regret is not purchasing more souvenirs like the lanterns. I did get some in the airport though!

We had a blast just walking around and seeing all the things in the markets. Kids got to pick a few things out as souvenirs and we got some magnets ourselves.

When we got back to the hotel that night, the one staff member who took a real liking to our kids was so sad to see us go. I’m sure she falls in love with so many cute white kids so I’m not sure how special we were. She was so sweet though and really loved on our kids. It’s a neat experience when they get admired by local people here in Asia. It teaches the a lot about other people. We learned a lot about Ana’s life in Vietnam and her culture.

We had some big ups and big downs on this whole Vietnam trip. I am so glad that we made the trip but it also made me realize how much I love Japan and value traveling Japan rather than the rest of Asia. We aren’t city people and some places are expensive and hard to navigate that I don’t have a desire to go to some of these places.

We also realized we do not like having tour guides. Nothing against the ones we had but we just didn’t like having such a structured trip and lacked the freedom to explore our own way.

Overall Asia Pioneer travel was fabulous and I recommend them to anyone looking to plan trips they want guides for!
