Ragnarök is one of the most significant events in nordic mythology. Ragnarök translates to "doom of the gods". In this apocalyptic event most of the gods perish in battle against the evils. Yggdrasil will quake. Odin will fight the giant wolf Fenrir and get swallowed whole. Thor will kill Jörmungandr and fall from the serpent's venom. Tyr will fight the hel hound Garmr and will be eaten. Heimdall and Loki will fight to the death. Freyr will fight the fire jötun Surtr and die. The earth will be scorched, and then sink into the sea. The wolves Skoll and Hati will swallow the sun and moon (Sol and Mani). Baldr will survive and the cycle of life will repeat.
