Nafakhum, the most beautiful waterfall in Bangladesh, is situated in the deep forest of Bandarban. The fall is created when the wild hilly river Sangu suddenly falls down. It is a perfect place for adventure lovers as well as nature lovers. You need to walk for about 2-3 hours from Remakri of Thanchi Upazila to reach the spot.

The falls are located in a remote area two hours' walking distance from Remakree Bazar, Thanchi Upazila, Bandarban District. In the rainy season, while water level increases, navigation by boat to Ngafakhong is about 20-25 minutes journey which can be hired from Remaikree estuary. Remakree is located three hours by boat on the Sangu River from Tindu, which is itself three hours by boat from Thanchi. Ngfa-Khong is very popular as a tourist destination. But due to the increasing number of mass touring the surrounding ecology has been deteriorated these days.

Forgoing Nafakhum, you have to first come Bandarban district. Then you have to use local transport for reaching Thanchi Upazila. At last, you have to go Remokrri by boat in the Sangu river and then Nafakhum.

Travel from Dhaka to Bandarban
It may cost around 550/- Taka (BDT) to the travelers if they travel by the bus of S.Alam or Saudia. The travel buses usually start from 10:30 pm to 6:30 am. The bus service providers may offer new schedule as well. It can be around 7-8 hours journey.

Travel from Bandarban to Thanchi
Then the traveler have to go to Thanchi upazilla by bus from Bandarban to reach his destination tour spot. It may take around 4.5 hours for the traveler to reach Thanchi. The distance between Bandarban to Thanchi is about 79 km.

Travel from Thanchi to Remakri
Travelers need to Hire a Tour guide
Travelers must enter their full name,address and contact number at the Army camp of Remakri, Bandarban. Then the travelers need to hire a tour guide. There is a tour guide committee and that tour guide committee will select an experienced tour guide for you. Though that tour guide is not very necessary for boat but the travelers are bound to hire that tour guide. This tour guide will stay for 2 days with the travelers while they are having the journey to reach the particular tour spot and till the travelers come back to Remakri. For the first day the tour guide will charge 600/= Taka (BDT) and for the second day onwards the tour guide will charge 500/= Taka (BDT) for each day (exclude his food and accommodation).

Travelers need to Hire a Boat for the Adventure journey from Thanchi to Remakri
Then the Travelers need to go to the travel place Remakri from Thanchi. Travelers have to hire engine boat to reach Remakri from Thanchi, because there is no rowing or paddle boat there. Boat fare is around 4000-4500/- for an up-down journey but the boatmen may ask for more. So, travelers should bargain with them. Boat journey will take around 4(four) hours to travel from Thanchi to Remakri. This journey is very challenging and tough, especially for the travelers who are scared of water and high tide. Because in rainy season the tides of Sangu River are very heavy and it is extremely dangerous journey especially at the place of “Boro Pathor”. In the area of Boro Pathor there are big rocks scattered in the Sangu River and strong tides are there in the Sangu River as well. But the sceneries of both sides of Sangu River are tremendously marvelous.
