This animation follows an architecture student developing a proposal for a Museum of Music and Sound. Her research explores how sound can become an active component of architectural experience and urban space.
Instead of working primarily in the studio, she moves through the city of Berlin, recording urban atmospheres, trains passing, traffic flows, structural vibrations, and echoes between buildings.
Through this process, the city is understood not only as a visual environment, but as an acoustic landscape with its own rhythms and tensions.
As her sketches evolve, architectural forms begin to detach from conventional geometries. They stretch, destabilize, and transform, as if directly shaped by vibration and resonance.
After an accident on Warschauer Bridge, she enters a transitional state between consciousness and unconsciousness. In this altered perception, Berlin appears as a dynamic field of sound and form: streets behave like waves, bridges vibrate, and walls seem to emit frequencies.
She identifies a spatial imbalance concentrated around the RAW-Gelände , a site where accumulated histories and unresolved energies distort the rhythm of the surrounding neighborhood. Rather than intervening through destruction, she restores balance by tuning frequencies and synchronizing rhythms, similar to adjusting a musical instrument.
Upon returning to physical reality, the city appears unchanged. Yet her perception has transformed.
The project concludes with the realization that listening can become a method of architectural understanding, revealing hidden spatial qualities beyond the visual domain.
