Against the backdrop of an accelerating energy transition towards green sources of energy and particularly the production of batteries, the production circumstances of the minerals required for this process have drawn much attention.
While public attention and media coverage is increasingly putting manufacturers in a position of responsibility, they lack the information to ensure good labor and environmental standards throughout their entire supply chains.
The session discusses the role a human rights risk centred approach to risk analysis might play in installing strong compliance procedures along mineral supply chains.
