When Tony Blair was asked about his faith in an interview, his Press Secretary, Alastair Campbell, walked in and cut the interviewer off. “We don’t do God”, he said.
Many of us would think that it is great that we don’t live in a theocracy ruled by clerics. Perhaps it is better if religion takes a back seat in politics - it is too divisive, exclusionary and oppressive.
But does Jesus have anything to say to our messy political world? Should He say anything at all? Should we “do God”?
Our speaker Tim Farron is the current MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale and was previously Leader of the Liberal Democrats from 2015-2017.
