In his role working with the terminally ill and as a suicide counsellor, Laurence has learnt powerful lessons from those who are wrestling with their end-of-life moments. These moments provide critical insights for us in seeking purpose and meaningfulness in our own lives. The lack of purpose or meaningfulness in our life is simply committing suicide in slow motion, unhappiness lingering on for decades until the very end. How do we recapture our sense of life purpose and experience sustainable happiness?
The answer can be found, of all places, in a suicide crisis call. There is one question, often explored in an end-of-life crisis moment, when we ask the question to ourselves -the thoughtful answer opens the door to creating a meaningful life for us again.
Laurence is a professional negotiator for 30 years, working with businesses and individuals in financial crisis. Additionally, Laurence was a key member of the Sydney Lifeline training team, training new counsellors and worked on the phones as a counsellor himself for 15 years.
