In this video, I explain why I don’t recommend aggressive liposuction of the tummy tuck flap itself—it can damage the blood supply, increasing the risk of wound healing complications. Instead, I remove the deeper fat layer (sub-scarpal fat) during the tummy tuck while preserving the blood vessels in the upper fat layer.

That doesn’t mean you can’t get liposuction at all! I discuss which areas—like the upper back, waist/flanks, thighs, and arms—can safely be contoured at the same time. And if you’re looking for more definition in your abdomen, liposuction can always be done later after healing.
