July 27, 2006 - One of the finest jet - and hotrod - restorers has been killed in the crash of his beautiful F-86 Sabre. Wyatt Fuller was taking off from Hickory Regional Airport this past Monday, July 24, enroute to the airshow at Oshkosh, WI. The aircraft never lifted from the runway, and ran off the end, crashing and catching fire. Witnesses reported seeing smoke from the wheels as the F-86 rolled down the runway, apparently from Wyatt's attempts at applying the brakes. The plane crashed through a fence and across a road.
