A journey from the start in Newlands Starting point to UCT Rugby Stadium Finish line.
The route runs inland for 16km towards Muizenberg Kalk Bay where we touch the 1st portion of the Ocean.We run on the coast for about 4/5km towards Fishhoek before drafting inland for about for about 7-9Km. At 29km, at Noordhoek, the incline towards Chapmans Peak begins.This is my favourite portion of the race and where I spend most of time admiring the beauty of the mountains and the outstanding views of Hout Bay on the other side of the sea.Chapmans Peak is 34km in to the race and from there on wards its a descent of about 4/5km into Hout bay.I have to talk about Constania Nek ,the most difficult part of the race, which begins from about 41/42km and ascents for about 4/5km before you encounter the notorious camber towards Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
Everyone should try and run this race.They don't call it the most beautiful race for nothing, once you run it once , you are are addicted to go back again and again
