Tinker and Friends Educational and Emotional Goals

Tinker and Friends is designed to provide a safe and familiar space for kids, children, and toddlers to rest, learn, and observe.

Calming episodes of Tinker and Friends are designed to help sooth the child watching through the use of calming music, slow paced plot devices/ character movement on screen, close up hyper detailed video footage of objects, and non stressful obstacles that the characters overcome. The goal of each episode is to demonstrate ways of thinking and acting that are rooted in a set of personal values that a person can have, as well as demonstrate healthy practices such as mindfulness and emotional intelligence.

Each robot’s day is spent exploring different activities in life that fulfill that robot’s sense of values. While each robot has a different set of interests, it is shown how similar activities can fulfill different values. Furthermore, it is seen how one set of values can be fulfilled through multiple different activities, jobs, and lifestyles. By demonstrating this for children, it is the hope that they will grow up with an optimistic mindset for the vast possibilities of the future.

Exciting episodes of Tinker and Friends are designed to help excite the child watching, and to impart the idea that “the world around a person is full of fun and beauty each day”. The main character Tinker also helps show the viewer that there is, in fact, a time to be excited and energetic, as well as a time to be calm and tranquil. Furthermore, a healthy, well rounded, human being can balance both excitement and tranquility in their life if they so choose.
