(31 Oct 1994) Chinese Prime Minister Li Peng arrived in South Korea on Monday
(31/10) for a five-day trip aimed at fostering growing trade ties
between the former Cold War enemies. Monday's main function for
Li, the most senior communist official to visit South Korean, was
a courtesy call on President Kim Young-sam. Li Peng will sign two aviation agreements - on direct flight links and joint development of
medium-sized passenger aircraft - and an accord to cooperate in
the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
